Amy commenced her pupillage with NSQB in December 2024. She is currently gaining valuable experience in all areas of Chambers’ practice during her first six. This includes both public and private children law, financial remedy applications, civil claims and commercial litigation.
Amy was educated at Durham University (Hatfield College) where she read Law and obtained an Upper Second Class LLB (Hons). She then went on to study for her Master of Laws Degree and Bar Practice Course at the University of Law, achieving a Distinction and Very Competent, respectively.
During her studies Amy gained a wide variety of experience in pro-bono legal work, including dedicating 2 years to volunteering with Citizens Advice, supporting young people with mental health issues to understand the laws that affected them and access support around their rights, and working within the University Law Clinic.
Following her call to the Bar in 2022, Amy gained experience in law working for Cleveland Police in their legal disclosure department, before going on to work as a Paralegal in a city centre law firm.
She has extensive experience of care proceedings, private law children disputes, domestic violence prevention orders and protective injunctions. Amy was able to benefit from valuable advocacy experience, attending and conducting her own hearings.
In her free time, Amy enjoys theatre, music and travelling.
