Andrew joined chambers in 2024, having worked as in-house Counsel at a local authority and a firm of solicitors. He was previously a Magistrates’ legal advisor, and has also worked in-house within a police legal team dealing with operational policing.

 

Andrew practises mainly in the field of family law but also accepts instructions in relation to licensing and regulatory matters.

 

Family Law

​

Andrew has extensive public law experience of representing parents (including through the Official Solicitor), local authorities, children and other extended family members in care proceedings. He is experienced in dealing with complex multi-sibling cases and has particular expertise in dealing with cases involving parties with additional learning needs and / or capacity issues. 

​

Andrew has also appeared for both parents and 16.4 guardians in private law proceedings. He has been instructed in complex multi-day fact finding hearings and cases involving parental alienation, domestic abuse and international relocation.

​

Andrew has experience of handling cases involving non-accidental injury, fabricated and induced illness, rape and serious sexual harm and domestic abuse (including controlling and coercive behaviour).

 

Licensing / Regulatory

​

Andrew also has significant experience relating to premises and personal licensing, firearms licensing, dangerous dogs, domestic violence prevention orders, and sexual offences prevention orders. He is happy to accept instructions in these areas.
